Congratulations! YOU Are Not a Body.

The message of Christ was not, is not, religious dogma; it was and is the most advanced meta-physics of Life. In scientific terms it is the only "Theory of Everything".

In Ephesians 4, Paul says:

17 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, 18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: 22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; 23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

The institutional Christian church has taught since the Roman Council of Nicaea

in 325 AD that this and other similar texts refer merely to man's duty to make himself into a better man, presumably, to please a far away God-- to lessen the "vanity of the mind". To "walk not in the vanity of the mind" is anything but a matter of degree. Paul did not say, "try not to be so vain." He meant clearly "live not according to the mind given you by the world of the flesh." He said emphatically that this human mind is "alienation from the Mind of God." Rather we are to be and, as Jesus demonstrated, CAN BE "renewed in the Spirit of your Mind." This Mind is the spiritual connection we eternally possess to the One Mind that is the God of love.

1 Corinthians 6:17 But he who unites himself with the Lord is one with Him in spirit. But he who is joined to the Lord becomes one spirit with Him..." What would it be like to be "one spirit with God?" Could you be lame and be one with God? Could you lack anything, or be sick? No, because, as Jesus demonstrated, human worldly thought is the lie, the world of the senses is the "father of lies." When we accept the world's thoughts as our own we are living in the sin, sickness, anxiety and death of the world of the flesh-- matter. As even man's science now knows, there is no actual "matter." What the sense perceive as solid us actually "vibrating energy of probability"--- thought! And it's not just thought, it's wrong thought! Jesus taught every ailing person he met to accept God's thought which is always health, harmony and life. The lame instantly walked, the sick were suddenly well and the dead arose. There was no medicine or time involved-- only change in thought. Do we need a degree in psychology to accomplish this change of thought and experience some of the Bible's promised "peace that passed understanding"? The actual good news if the gospel is this: To "be renewed in the Spirit of your Mind" refers to capital M mind, or our eternal connection to the Mind of God. It is in this Mind we "live and move and have our being" whether we realize it our not. It is a choice-- to welcome it or continue in the sin of choosing the world's illusion for "sin" is not naughtiness, but merely choosing the world rather than God's dominion over it-- This is our inheritance.

But, many will ask, "How do I do it?"

Maybe it would be helpful to ask first, "What is the difference between Jesus' message and that of Eastern and other teachings of meditation to attain a temporal "peace"? When the Bible tells us "Be still and know that I am God," it becomes clear that it is not enough to be "still" but we must know God. I would say, moreover, "to know what to expect from complete faith in God." When Jesus told us "These things and greater will you do in faith.," he was guaranteeing that freeing our minds from worldly thought (praying incessantly) and connecting with or knowing God brings what?-- dominion over the world of the flesh-- healing! This is what Jesus did every day for three years!

Mary Baker Eddy wrote in 1875:

"There is no life, truth, intelligence, nor substance in matter. All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation..."

This can be grasped and experienced with "Faith the size of a mustard seed." One step at a time choose faith in eternal harmony over the world's sin, sickness and death. Pick up your mat and walk!
